Atlanta Resturant Review: Kimball House

My favorite restaurant in Atlanta is the Kimball House. Though more expensive than most restaurants, it is definitely worth trying. Even if you don't make a lot of money, you can save your coins and try it at least once in your life!

Here of some reasons why this food is something you will want to invest in:

1. The Ambiance: An authentic mix of what Atlanta offers as a city. The environment is authentic, real, nice, charming, casual, and fancy all in one. This makes it a great spot for a special date, cocktails with friends, or a fancy meal. Think, speakeasy with a modern 1920s vibe.

2. The Neighborhood: Located in Decatur, this restaurant is conveniently located by the Marta station and the center of downtown Decatur which offers a variety of other restaurants, bars, and shops to browse after or before dinner.

3. The Caviar: Wow! The first time I had caviar was here and it was the best thing I have ever eaten -- no wonder people pay so much money for fish eggs! There is a great selection and comes with amazing buttery toast. Especially known for the locally raise caviar from The University of Georgia.

4. The Drinks: Yo, these are some specialty cocktails. The ones with the big ice and real flowers - say no more! Try a cocktail with a unique combination of flavors or even Absinthe.

5. The Food: They have oysters, so get some duh! I would also recommend the beet salad, UGA caviar, beef tartar, and octopus for a complete and healthy meal. See full Kimball House menu. XOXO

Wednesday Night Parties in Atlanta

So you are in from out of town and don't know where to go on Wednesday night? It can be hard to find something to do because Atlanta isn't a 24/7 city like New York where there is something going on all the time. Usually, Monday to Wednesday nights will only have a couple of places open so the trick is just finding one. Luckily, here they are:

Tongue & Groove - Salsa/Latin & Hip Hop Party
This upscale club has been know for Latin nights for a while now, so be prepared to dance with talented partners to a mix of Batchata, Merengue, Salsa, and Hip Hop in the small room. Mixed crowd.

MJQ - Hip Hop, Soul, & Electronic Party
This underground classic venue is a staple of many ATLiens from back in the day. The venue is literally underground and dark. Great chill vibes, cheap drinks, and mixed crowd.

Prive Nightclub - Hip Hop & Rap Party
Found this gem when I was in town for the holidays and there was nothing to do. It is upscale and overpriced for drink, but a good place to go if you want to listen to Hip Hop or Rap music in Atlanta. The DJ is great, but the party gets started late. More of a place to people watch than dance as there is no where to sit unless you pay for a table.
